Weddings and Family
What a great time! What a wonderful time! We now have a new sister in the family, and some new in-laws. For the rehearsal dinner, Mike's sister Molly had the idea of creating a pupper show to kind of "roast" Matt and Traci. It was more about their lives, and their quirks, and good laughs about their dating. We made a cardboard puppet booth and Molly perfected a script. Mike and Lindsay (Let me know if I misspelled that), Matt's brother-in-law's girlfriend, worked the puppets and props from behind the cardboard curtain. It was a fun nights. The wedding was awesome! It was a beautiful 130 person affair in the backyard of Mike's brother's new wife's family. (Maximum number of possessives!) The Waxman's was a perfect place for the wedding, with a beautiful garden, wonderful temperature, and a great gathering of family and friends. It was great getting to know our new extended family. Matt (Mike's brother) and Traci said their vows while their dogs offered barks of affirmation from beyond the fence. Matt was tear-y eyed while reading a letter to Traci, and friends offered cheers and shouts. The party went on until midnight or so, until people finally headed out. The entire wedding meal was delightfully vegetarian, and had the most amazing hors d'oeuvres and thai mushroom soup. Dancing was a blast, and the music was a great mix of 70's disco and love songs. We needed some serious sleep after a party like that.
