86 hours, 56 minutes

According to AAA.com, the rough circumnavigation will require an amazing 86 hours, 56 minutes which in essence would be a little over 3.5 days entirely in the car.

Since Heather drives to school each day...she is both used to it, and quite possibly tired of driving. Mike might be hating it since his love/hate relationship with the Volvo is currently in "hate" phase, while H's prism runs like a champ.

The plains states weren't of as much interest, since we both have grown up in the area from Kansas City to Michigan..

Last night we put the finishing touches on the first leg of the navigation. We also have a couple of 14ers picked out in Colorado.. On that note we will have to see what works. Once in Utah, we are going to stay and visit Arches and Bryce, and then Backpack in Zion for a few days before heading to Las Vegas.
We booked a room at the Flamingo. Sunday nights are cheap in Vegas.

  1. Hi Heather & Mike - let us know if you find some exciting treasures in Vegas- we're heading there for a few days next spring.
Any chance you're coming through Milwaukee at the end? We're even cheaper than Vegas at the Hruska Hotel.

  2. When you stay at the Flamingo, be sure to have Mr. Reese teach you to play craps! He is a great teacher, and it can be a lot of fun. Be sure to tell him you are from Michigan, and see he might share good stories! Good Luck!
